Aloe aristata

English: Torch Plant, Lace Aloe; Afrikaans: Wit spikkelaalwyn

Aloe aristata - A stemless, evergreen plant of size typically 300mm x 300mmH, easily identified by white markings on leaf surfaces, and thin, pointed leaves. Forms in clumps of up to 12 small (100mm) rosettes. Flowers mid-winter to early summer. It produces tall spikes of pendulous orange-red to pinkish flowers which attract sunbirds, but its main feature is the foliage. A pretty addition to the rockery or as a potplant. It prefers semi-shade or morning sun and needs some water to look its best but drought tolerant. Keep fairly dry in winter. It is extremely cold tolerant. Good container plant.
