Aloe humilis

English: Spider aloe; Afrikaans: Plaat- of dwergaalwyn

Aloe humilis - A very variable specie, the variation correlating with the various growing conditions of its distribution area. 'Humilis' means "low growing", referring to the plant's growth habit - it is stemless. The large flowers (relative to plant size) are scarlet, orange or yellow in colour, flowering in August and September. Will tolerate shade but prefers sun. Not frost resistant. Good container plant. Size 150x150mmH.
