Erica gilva

English: Green heather; Afrikaans: Groenheide

Erica gilva - A large shrub to 1m with stiff branches bearing needle like leaves and tubular, white to creamy flowers in summer. Very cold and wind tolerant it does well in exposed places and the Cape honey sucker loves to visit them, also makes an interesting container plant. Responds well to light, regular pruning and occasional fertilizing with 3:1:5 slow release or organic compost.
