Searsia (Rhus) chirindensis - Previously Rhus chirindensis. Large tree with a neat, dense, rounded crown of glossy green leaves, attractive currant-like berries and beautiful autumn colour. Prune side branches to form a single stem tree, young trees have thorns which disappear with age. Mulch thickly with good compost, water regularly and feed with high nitrogen organic or chemical fertilizer to boost growth.
